The Guardian contacted us for our expert take on the hot honey trend, after the release of Walkers hot honey crisps. We’ve commented on the hot honey trend for the Independent newspaper before, however this is another example of how the sweet and spicy flavour has trickled into the mainstream.
We discussed how hot honey has become akin to salted caramel, following the same peak and then plateau. Whilst hot honey was launched by smaller challenger brands, bigger brands are now running with it as a relatively safe flavour variant.
