Harris and Hayes host immersive food trends tours to inspire NPD and bring clients up to date with emerging trends. In October 2021, we hosted 24 delegates from Vandemoortele bakery manufacturer over the course of a two-day food tour and mini-conference.

THE BRIEF: Understand new and emerging food trends which will make an impact across Europe, especially relating to new retail formats, health, delivery, and e-commerce. Based in Belgium, the client wanted the executive board to taste and experience the most important consumer and commercial trends in London which will impact their future operations.

THE PROJECT: Hosted a mini-conference with four simultaneous sessions to introduce participants to business, e-commerce and consumer-facing trends

  • Consumer trend food tour visiting influential, flavour-driven bakeries and QSR in Soho

  • Operations-focused food tour visiting major supermarkets and retailers who stock Vandemoortele products

  • Expert-led session on commercial implications of emerging food trends

  • Private tour of dark kitchen facilities to experience online delivery business model
